Kate moved to Westexe in September 2021 with her family, but has lived in Tiverton for 10 years. Her passion is the town and he serves on the Town Council. “Since moving here to live with my husband I’ve become very much connected in Tiverton. I really feel that there’s some great things and great people in our wonderful community, and I’d like to be part of the journey in making it even better.

Kate and her husband set up the Facebook group Tiverton Community Help and has 8.5k members.

Kate was the main driving force that fought MDDC to keep the paddling pool open, and protested at the council meeting to change the decision. Kate set up the petition, both online and with signatures on paper, and had around 5000 signatures opposing the closure. MDDC were then forced to make a U turn.

“I have a passion for baking and have worked in a local bakery as well as running my own self employed cake company.”

During the pandemic I used this to bake and deliver free cakes to worthy members of our community who were proposed by people that thought they deserved a little boost!

Kate was elected in May 2023 as a Town Councillor and is the Events and Amenities Committee, recently getting involved with the Christmas Lights and switch on event and Tiverton In Bloom.
